The car has 44,000 miles on it with factory upholstery, door seals, dash, etc. Garaged most of it's life." 64V1014 - Restored with modifications: Engine remanufactured bored .060 over, R2 cam, R3 heads ported and polished. Mopar SB Torquer intake with Speed Demon 575 cfm 4v Carb. Chevy TH350 Trans w/Hurst floor ratchet, Mopar 8-3/4 rear w/3.90:1 Sure Grip. Mopar Hemi Dart hood scoop. Compression was left low for supercharger options. Master Brake was changed to twin reservoir. Car has front disc brakes. I do have all the original stock parts. I bought it and had it shipped from Washington The car was clapped out had a spun bearing when I got it in 2000. Now it can hold its own. I was told car was the Portland OR car show in '63, this maybe wishful thinking but I do believe it to be an early production date of 7/10/63. I have a copy of the production record stating "99- tag introductory show car" and "413-show car quality", but it also says "63- Elec Winds" and I see no evidence of electric windows if I am reading that code correctly. 64V5116 - Air conditioning, overdrive and radio. Engine needs rebuilding. An Arizona car. 64V7520 - Much more information available here. 62V43955 - More information available here. 63V36822 - Car has 30,000 miles. Auto, PS, PB, TT. It is in good condition needing some paint & interior vinyl help, but absolutely no rust. I bought this car from the dealer's widow. this car was never sold or tagged in its life. The dealer put a repair plate on it and used it a bit until he closed his shop in 1970. I am the 1st true owner of this car. I remember seeing this car in the dealer showroom at Walpole Street Garage in Norwood, MA. The dealer's name was Henry Hentscel. C518335 - Pictures here and here. 64V5459 - This is a non-performance package car that was built with all the package equipment except for the column shift automatic. The car now has a powershift automatic and an R2 motor (JTS1610) from a 1963 custom. Steve Hinshaw evidently owned both cars at one point. I am unaware of any other R2 1964 Cruisers, however I understand 5 were built that year. The car came to me from Bob Kapteyn who bought it from the Darrell Dye estate. I understand Mr. Dye worked for Studebaker on the R series project and he rebuilt the engine himself before he died. It appears from the production order that George W. Pine was the original buyer. C534654 - This was the last Studebaker produced and is in the care of the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana. It was built on March 17, 1966. C63V3872 - Vehicle is being parted out. C532310 - More information here. C132520 - Pictures here and here. Car for sale on Craigslist, Madison WI. 64V14071 - This car was built on October 24, 1963. If I understand the serial numbers correctly, it is the highest numbered American built Cruiser registered. The car was sold new in Walla Walla, WA to a Mr. Turner of Dayton, WA. Mr. Turner was in his seventies when he bought the car and apparently didn't drive much as the car now has only 73,000 miles on it (12,000 of which are by the current owner). After the original owner died, the care passed through two additional owners, eventually being acquired by Don Shelton in WI. I bought the car from Don in 2001. Since then I have rebuilt the engine, power steering, front suspension, brakes, etc. It didn't particularly need this done, but I like taking things apart. The attached picture shows it in the parking lot at my office, dirty as usual. I'm a real Studebaker driver! C506485 - This Cruiser was a company car at South Bend Headquarters and was driven by an employee of the Mercedes-Benz office. That person purchased the car directly from Studebaker (SASCO) in May of 1965. In 1972 the car was sold to their neighbor directly across the street in South Bend. They continued as the owners until 2006 when we purchased the car during a trip to visit the Studebaker National Museum. It still has only 65,000 miles showing on the odometer. 63V29082 - Cruiser found on Ebay (pic here): THIS IS AN AVANTI POWERED LARK CRUISER WITH THE AVANTI 289 and HEAVY DUTY AUTO TRANSMISSSION, POWER BRAKES and POWER STEERING. Car is originally from Texas. No rust, paint is faded (Rose Mist in color). needs interior (brown). Has new 160 m.p.h. speedometer and cable, new tires, new brakes, posi-trac 3:31 rear end, coil over shocks, and dual exhaust. Trunk is solid, fenders are solid no rust, floors are solid .underbody is clean. Car was driven Saturday & Sundays routinely to car shows and church. All original. C514878 - Modified Cruiser. Currently has small block 350 Chevy, floor shift 700R4. Was originally delivered in Auburn, WA. Factory disk brake car, individual front seats, climatizer, power steering, AM radio. 64V15383 - My name is
Mark as well. I just purchased a 1964 Cruiser that looks very similar to
your old 1965. I wanted to get it in your registry. A copy of the
production order
came with the car, so I am including it as one of the pictures. Pictures
here and
here. | |||||
